Additional Information
1. Overview of YIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The Yantra India Limited (YIL) Apprentice Recruitment 2026 has successfully concluded its merit-based selection process. Unlike traditional recruitment exams, YIL follows a direct shortlisting procedure based on the academic marks obtained in the qualifying examinations (10th standard or ITI trades, as applicable). No written examination was conducted for this recruitment drive.

The final merit list released on 23 April 2026 is the culmination of rigorous scrutiny of over 12.5 lakh applications received for the 3,979 available apprenticeship positions.

Candidates are advised to understand that being shortlisted in the merit list marks the first stage of the final selection process. Selected candidates must successfully clear subsequent stages including Document Verification (DV) and Medical Fitness Test (MFT) to receive their final joining letters.

2. Category-Wise Cutoff Analysis & Selection Trends

Based on the officially released statistics, here is the detailed breakdown of the competitive landscape:

General (UR) Category: Cutoff set at 385 marks out of 500. Pass percentage stood at 72.50%. Competition was intense, primarily driven by ITI certification holders in high-demand trades like Fitter, Electrician, and Turner.

OBC (NCL) Category: Required 362 marks for shortlisting. Relaxation of 23 marks from General category reflects standard government reservation policies.

SC & ST Categories: Cutoffs at 341 (SC) and 328 (ST) respectively, providing equitable opportunities for reserved category candidates.

EWS Category: Cutoff stood at 370 marks, notably higher than OBC but lower than General, indicating strong performance from Economically Weaker Sections.

PwD Category: Lowest qualifying cutoff at 310 marks for Persons with Disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation.

Key Observation: Approximately 52,000 candidates qualified for Document Verification round - nearly 13 times the available vacancies (3,979). Only top performers will ultimately secure apprenticeship.
