📌 NTA NEET UG 2026 Admit Card – Complete Exam Day Guidelines & Important Instructions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully released the NEET UG 2026 Admit Card on April 26-27, 2026. The highly anticipated undergraduate medical entrance examination will be conducted nationwide on Sunday, 03 May 2026 from 02:00 PM to 05:05 PM (IST). Candidates appearing for the exam must carefully read and strictly follow the instructions below. Failure to comply may result in denial of entry or disqualification.

⏰ Section 1: Exam Day Schedule (Strict Timings)

📄 Section 2: Mandatory Documents to Carry (Entry Will Be Denied Without These)

Candidates must bring the following documents to the examination hall. No candidate will be allowed to enter without a valid printed admit card and original ID proof.

🚫 Section 3: Prohibited Items – Strictly NOT Allowed Inside the Exam Hall

The NTA has a zero-tolerance policy for prohibited items. Possession of any of the following items will lead to immediate disqualification and potential legal action.

📱 Electronics & Communication Devices (ABSOLUTELY BANNED)

• Mobile Phone / Smartphone – Can be used for cheating or communication
• Smartwatch, Digital Watch, Fitness Band – Can store data, formulas, or receive messages
• Bluetooth Headset, Earphones, AirPods – Can be used for audio cheating
• Calculator or any computing device – Calculation is not allowed during the exam
• Pager, Walkie-Talkie, or any radio device – Can receive external signals
• Any metallic or hidden camera device – Can capture question paper images

✏️ Stationery & Accessories (NOT PERMITTED)

• Geometry box, compass, protractor, scale
• Pencil box or any pouch
• Any paper (including blank or rough paper)
• Books, notes, guides, or printed material
• Scribble pad (will be provided by NTA on the computer)
• Eraser, sharpener, or correction fluid/tape

🎒 Personal Items (NOT ALLOWED)

• Handbag, purse, backpack, or any bag
• Wallet or money (cash)
• Jewelry (rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, nose pins)
• Belt with metallic buckle
• Coins, keys, or any metallic object
• Sunglasses, goggles, caps, hats, or headgear (except religious with prior approval)
• Jacket, hoodie, sweater, shawl (unless medically necessary with certificate)
• Lipstick, makeup, powder, or any cosmetic product
• Food items (except for diabetic/medical conditions with prior permission)
• Cigarettes, matchbox, lighter, or any tobacco product

🔔 Warning: Candidates found carrying any prohibited item will have their candidature cancelled immediately. The decision of the Center Superintendent will be final and binding.

👕 Section 4: Dress Code Guidelines for NEET UG 2026

The NTA has prescribed a specific dress code to ensure smooth frisking and prevent any malpractice.

✅ Recommended Dress (WHAT TO WEAR)

• Male Candidates: Light-colored half-sleeve shirt/t-shirt with light trousers or jeans (no pockets or minimal pockets)
• Female Candidates: Light-colored salwar/kameez, kurti with leggings, or light-colored half-sleeve top with trousers
• Footwear: Sandals, slippers, or open footwear (avoid shoes with thick soles or heavy boots)

❌ Prohibited Dress (WHAT NOT TO WEAR)

• All Candidates: Full-sleeve shirts/tops (arms must be visible for frisking)
• All Candidates: Dark-colored or printed heavy clothing
• All Candidates: Jackets, hoodies, sweaters, or any layered clothing
• All Candidates: Clothes with large buttons, badges, or metallic embellishments
• All Candidates: Any headgear (cap, hat, turban, bandana, dupatta on head) – except for religious reasons with written prior approval from NTA
• Female Candidates: Heavy sarees with metal pins, gowns, or lengthy dresses that can hide items

📌 Note: Candidates will undergo mandatory metal detector screening and frisking. If your clothing triggers the metal detector multiple times, you may be subjected to additional checks or denied entry.

🏛️ Section 5: Inside the Exam Hall – What You Must Do

Once you enter the exam hall, follow these instructions carefully:

• Locate your assigned seat exactly as mentioned on the admit card. Do not sit at any other computer.
• Wait for the invigilator's instructions. Do not touch the keyboard or mouse until instructed.
• Verify your photograph on the computer screen. If it is not yours or is distorted, raise your hand immediately.
• Log in using the credentials provided by the invigilator (if required).
• Read the instructions on the screen carefully before starting the exam.
• Use the digital scribble pad provided on the computer for rough work. You cannot carry your own paper.
• Mark your answers carefully. Double-check before final submission.
• Do not talk or communicate with any other candidate during the exam.
• Do not leave your seat without the invigilator's permission.
• Submit your exam only when the timer ends or when instructed by the invigilator.

If you notice any of the following issues on your admit card, take immediate action:

• Misspelled name – Contact NTA Helpdesk immediately (before the exam date)
• Wrong date of birth – Contact NTA Helpdesk for correction
• Blurred or mismatched photograph – Report to the Center Superintendent on the exam day before the exam starts
• Missing signature – Carry additional passport-size photographs and a copy of the application form
• Wrong category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) – Contact NTA Helpdesk with valid supporting documents
• Wrong exam center city – Center change is generally NOT permitted. Only report if there is a technical error

🏆 Section 7: Tie-Breaker Rules (How NEET Ranks Are Decided)

If two or more candidates score the same total marks, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied in order:

• 1st Priority: Candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology combined) will be ranked higher
• 2nd Priority: Candidate with higher marks in Chemistry will be ranked higher
• 3rd Priority: Candidate with higher marks in Physics will be ranked higher
• 4th Priority: Candidate with lesser ratio of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects
• 5th Priority: Older candidate (by age) will be given preference

• Plan Your Travel: Visit the exam center on 02 May 2026 (a day before the exam) to avoid any confusion or last-minute delays. Use Google Maps or ask locals for the exact location.


• Keep Multiple Printouts: Download at least 3-4 color printouts of the admit card. Keep one in your bag, one with your parents, and one in your car. Save a digital copy on your mobile phone and Google Drive as a backup.


• Sleep Well & Eat Light: Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep before the exam. Eat a light, healthy meal before leaving home. Avoid heavy or oily food that may cause discomfort during the exam.


• Stay Calm & Confident: Do not panic. Read each question carefully. Manage your time wisely. Attempt the questions you are sure about first, then move to the difficult ones.
